- Giuseppe Gorni
Giuseppe Gorni was born in Quinstello (Mn) in 1894.
He attended the University in Bologna but his childhood passion for drawing was overwhelmingly rekindled during the First World War when he was imprisoned in concentration camp in Hungary. Here he met Massimo Campigli, one of the most important italian artist. In 1922 he received the diploma from the Art Academy in Bologna and he started his trips all over Europe to study the masterpieces of modern art. In 1927 he gave up painting and concentrated on sculpture. In 1945 his sculptures exhibition in Suisse aroused the interest of Gio Ponti and Soffici and later he exhibited all over Europe.
After his death, which occured in 1975, the town of Quinstello built a Museum dedicated to him and his masterpieces.
